The Story of Table Tap
Pour Your Own Beer – The Story of Table Tap
Once upon a tap in 2004 in Argentina, Jeff Libby poured himself a beer. This is where the story of Table Tap starts he was not a bartender, nor a server but simply a patron at a bar. Immediately, Jeff knew there was a unique opportunity to innovate in the US markets for draft products. The tap in Argentina was mounted on a table and displayed the amount dispensed on an analog alarm clock-like display. This tap was monitored but not controlled. Jeff made it his mission to share the feeling of empowerment that comes from pulling the tap with beer drinkers in the United States.
The First Steps
After returning from Argentina, Jeff began working for an Anheuser Busch distributor to comprehend the beer industry and never lose sight of his goal. From there, he initiated meetings with alcohol authorities to pursue the new American dream, which for Jeff was providing the self-pour experience. As meetings took place, Jeff was able to limit consumption, and thus began the journey of Table Tap.
In December of 2006 we became the first company to implement self-pour in the United States. The first system is in Atlanta, Ga at Stats brewpub. Stats became the birthplace of self-pour beer in the United States. Since then, there have been over 300 projects completed, and plenty of new technologies.
Table Tap Today
Our company continues to pioneer self-pour in so many more ways than just beer and bars. Pouring your own beverages with Table Tap is the most interactive and engaging beverage experience possible in the market today. Today draft beverages are more than beer, but rather wine, cold-brew, kombucha, cocktails, seltzers and so much more. As the Table Tap story continues we look forward to people pouring their own and sharing an experience that will resonate a lifetime.
